Syfy (formerly Sci-Fi Channel) is an American cable television channel, featuring science fiction, supernatural, fantasy, reality, paranormal, wrestling, and horror programming. Launched on September 24, 1992, it is part of the entertainment conglomerate NBCUniversal, a subsidiary of Comcast and General Electric. The name Syfy was officially adopted on July 7, 2009.

From 1992 to 1999, the network's first logo consisted of a planet with a ring on it, and the words "SCI-FI CHANNEL" embedded. The network's second logo ran from 1999 to 2002, which dropped the hyphen and "CHANNEL" from the name. The network's third and final logo designed by Lambie-Nairn debuted on December 2, 2002 with the launch of the Steven Spielberg miniseries Taken.
